One of the services we offer at Rocket City Tax Accounting is QuickBooks Online Batch Import. This service is useful when you have a large amount of data to move into QuickBooks online, and you need it done quickly. Batch import is much faster than manual entry. It’s also more accurate. In case you’re wondering why anyone would want to do that, here’s some examples.
- Your company has been keeping its financial records in Excel or Google Sheets, and the business has grown to the point where you need a full-featured accounting application.
- Your company has been using a “legacy” accounting system that is being discontinued, and you want to import historical data to QBO.
- Your QBO is woefully behind, or it’s a mess, and you need to do a cleanup/catchup.
On any batch import project, we always run tests with very small batches before we execute larger batches. That way we can be sure the larger imports will go smoothly.
The largest batch import project we’ve yet done was the QuickBooks Online batch import of 169,983 invoices comprised of almost 500,000 line items. I’ve put together a video that shows how we did this. You can get an overview by watching about the first 10 minutes of the video. If you want to see how we did it start to finish, watch all 30 minutes of the video.
